Welcome to the 19th annual Amici Ball website
Every year The Amici (friends) of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, celebrate annually with a gala event called The Amici Ball. It is an evening of good food, great music and memories. All proceeds of the event go to the historical preservation of the parish and the church scholarship fund.
The 19th annual Amici Ball will be held:
Saturday September 27th
at the Sheraton Hotel & Marina on Harbor Island from 5:30pm – 12:00am.
On the Corner of State and Date Streets in San Diego’s Little Italy, exists a beautiful Catholic Church, named Our Lady of the Rosary, known as “The Jewel of Little Italy”, a historical site in the same characteristics of many churches found in villages of the Ligurian Province in Italy. Regardless of your religious affiliation, a visit to this religious work of art and historical monument is a must!
Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church was the dream realized by many families in the Italian Community over eighty-three years ago, and thus, became the community corner stone. Today this parish still serves Italian Americans and stands as the foundation of the community.
Entering this overwhelming structure, you find yourself surrounded by gorgeous paintings adorning the ceiling and walls, with breathtaking frescos at both the front and rear walls of the church. The architectural style of its interior with arches and naves, adds magnificent character to the church. The paintings are the work of the famous Italian Artist, Fausto Tosca.
